Blackpool Christmas Lights 2016

In the UKs most famous Illuminations town, you'd expect to see Christmas Lights, and you'd be right!

This year, the Christmas Lights in Blackpool will be switched on on Saturday 19 November in a Christmas Party afternoon.

The big switch on takes place in St John's Square outside the Winter Gardens, find out more here.

See the 10m tall Christmas tree - it's a modern affair as you can see below, in twinkly white orbs - you'll find it in St John's Square near the water fountains.

Blackpool Christmas Lights Switch On

The Blackpool Illuminations stay on for Christmas in front of Blackpool Tower and of course Blackpool Tower will also be lit throughout the fesive season too.

Once the Blackpool Illuminations end you'll see the them being taken down for repair and storage elsewhere on the seafront until the following year.

Talbot Square, the area outside the town hall in the area opposite North Pier, is always trimmed up for Christmas.

In 2014 the town centre display was improved, with the lighting expanded in three streets - Church Street, Coronation Street and Deans Gate, with additional new items also added to Abingdon Street.

The Blackpool Christmas Lights are funded by Blackpool Council and Blackpool BID.
