Diversity are back!

Dance group Diversity are back for their third consecutive year at the Blackpool Illuminations Switch On 2018. They switched on the 2017 Illuminations last year in a unique partnership with Star Trek.

This year they bring another great routine to the Switch-On stage as they’re joined by Britain’s Got Talent finalists DVJ (Diversity Juniors).  Then in September they set off on their 8th UK tour with Street Dance Circus Spectacular: IGNITE. They’re back in Blackpool in October for SLIMEFEST, hosted by Diversity’s own Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely.

Also returning to Switch On are MTV’s Becca Dudley, along with R3wire and Varski. They’re the Club MTV DJs and record producers who’ve helped turn Illuminations Switch-On night into the coolest party in town.

Local performers

The celebration starts with a “Blackpool Introduces” showcase featuring the best of talent from across the Fylde Coast, before the main show.

What a fantastic well organised event and having the golden circle to buy a wristband was well worth it being a family we avoided all the hectic ness amongst the younger ones we totally loved it and were very impressed how organised it was even the staff were very friendly diverting us to the empty loos queuing in the bar was less stressful tho very disappointed in the quality of drink which was flat and like gripe water they should open the bottle fresh on payment not give you one sat there for ages making it unbearable to drink and at £5 a drink u want to enjoy ya drink whilst watching the amazing line up and very organised happy event can’t wait to buy a golden circle wristband for next year rather than get. The Free band it’s well worth the money and thanku to everyone who was there and the organisers credit to blackpool we need more prom events for the town to attract people

Ridiculous signed up 12 months ago for me my husband and 3 kids to get free wristbands to the switch on as my kids are desperate to go signed up every year for last 4 years and as Blackpool residents fy4 I thought we would at least get wristbands

I’m sorry you didn’t get wristbands Claire, but you’ve done well to get them the last 4 years. I do know that more than 100,000 people registered, so it’s a very big hat to get picked from. Better luck next year!

Upset this year that we can not leave after coming in. Like been in a prison . Never done this before. Nice that you was able to come enjoy and and pop back. So upset this year to be told if you left you miss it. Not the best idea .

I’m sorry you were upset. I’m sure that Blackpool Council changed their arrangements for a very good reason. It’s a very big crowd of people to manage on one night.
