The Fylde Coast is the place to be for entertainment and variety with a wide range of public events, much of which is provided by the hundreds of community and amateur groups that are in the area.

BetVictor PDC World Matchplay Darts
Saturday 22 July to Sunday 30 - various times
This year’s World Matchplay will be held from July 22-30, as 32 players compete across nine days live on Sky Sports in the prestigious championship.
The world’s top 16 players – headed by reigning champion Michael van Gerwen, 15-time World Matchplay champion Phil Taylor and 2007 winner James Wade – qualify by right alongside 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit.
The first round will take place across four sessions from July 22-24, with Saturday’s opening session followed by a double session on the Sunday and the final four games on Monday evening. The second round is played across Tuesday and Wednesday, with the quarter-finals on Thursday and Friday before the weekend sees Saturday’s semi-finals followed by Sunday’s final.

Heritage Tram Rides
You can enjoy a Blackpool Heritage Tram ride on the promenade every weekend until November, download your timetable at the link below.
On selected weekends there are enhanced services for special events with journeys north through Cleveleys to Fleetwood. Plus Heritage Trams operate daily during peak holiday weeks at Easter, Spring Bank, for the summer and school half term holidays.
Different trams from the Heritage fleet operate on different days - and on beautiful sunny days the open-top tram cars come out too!

RSPB’s Summer of Seaside Fun at Fairhaven Lake
26 July - Mini Beast Hunt - discover more about our smallest residents. 9 and 30 August, try the unique experience of mud dipping on the Ribble estuary, discovering all manner of creatures that live in the mud. This event costs £5 per child (RSPB members £3).16 August - Exploring the Sand Dunes23 August - a guided wildlife photography walk, teaching participants how to capture the Ribble’s amazing landscapes.All the Wild Wednesday events take place between 2-4 pm and participants will need to dress for the outdoors.
This school holiday families are invited to the RSPB Ribble Discovery Centre, by Fairhaven Lake to make Wednesday’s wild! A whole host of activities are on offer with the theme changing each week.
In addition to Wild Wednesday activities, make the most of staying up late in the school holidays with a guided bat walk on Saturday 12 August, 8 pm. Lots of bats make their home down by the water, search them out using special bat detectors. This event costs £7 per person (RSPB members £5).
Seaside snap is also back by popular demand. This self-led trail is available 10am-4pm every day except Mondays and involves scavenging the shoreline for the creatures pictured on the collection box.

Fleetwood Museum Book Sale During the season, Fleetwood Museum Trust hold a book sale from 10.30 to 15.30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in the small house next to the Museum on Queen's Terrace.
The book sale will also be open on Tram Sunday and for Folk and Heritage weekends.
Hundreds of books, some new, priced at only 50p or 10p.
