Find out how you can get involved and join the Friends of the Illuminations, and help to keep the Lights shining bright in Blackpool.

The Friends of Blackpool Illuminations has a small team of Ambassadors who organise and plan fundraising events, talk to businesses about how they can get involved, explore opportunities, raise awareness, and generally promote the Illuminations message where they can.

The word is certainly getting out, but there’s a lot to do for a small team of people.

Which is where you come in.

Blackpool Illuminations needs You!

Volunteering events are held from time to time, where you can come along and find out more.

It’s a chance to have a look inside Lightworks, the depot at Squires Gate where everything is made.

This was the last event that was held in June 2017.

Support a Fundraising Event

Would you like to help out for a couple of hours, without a regular demand on your time?

Come along to one of the events with the Ambassadors, to sell Lamps or shake a collecting tin.

At the start of and throughout the season, most of the big attractions hold season previews and coffee mornings. The Ambassadors go to as many as they can.

Helpers are always valued and it’s a great way to get out and about and make friends and have a laugh. The public love anything to do with the Lights!

Hold your own Fundraising Event

You don’t have to sell Lamps or hold a collecting tin at the Airshow.

If you love to bake you could hold a cake sale. Have you got a lot of jumble that you could sell off? Would you like to hold a coffee morning, sponsored silence or your own sponsored walk?

Whatever you can raise to donate to the fund will be warmly welcomed.

Take Part in an Event

Throughout the year the Friends of the Illuminations hold different events of their own.

There’s the Annual Banquet and Ball at the beginning of the season, and the Switch Off Party at the end of the year.

Other events have been held over the years. In 2013 a Sponsored Walk was held.

Please buy tickets, donate prizes, and take part. It all counts!
