How the Lights are Funded

Blackpool Council pay for the Illuminations to be maintained, put up and to appear on our promenade each year.

The Illuminations Fund exists to collect and raise money to pay for new features and innovation. Extra money comes from fundraising, sale of official merchandise, the public collection, business donations and sometimes through grants.

This extra money refreshes the Illuminations each year and gives people a reason to keep coming back to see them.

How you can Contribute to The Blackpool Illuminations Fund

Buy your light-up merchandise from the official retailers in the LightPool Village on the Comedy Carpet. The profit raised from sales here goes straight into the fund.

Please make a donation at one of the Collection Points on the promenade.

The donation stations at either end of the promenade were revamped in 2016. They welcome you with a glittering ‘Thank You’ arch over the road and swags of twinkling LED lights.

  1. I totally agree that online donations should be introduced so motorists, in particular, can donate without having to stop their cars.

  2. Hi,
Another fabulous year of illuminations… a great day had by all. Apart from this year it was quieter, not t as many stops and we were unable to stop at the donation stations… u need to set up an online donation facility… Apple Pay etc would make it easy for most…
