Illuminated Tram Parade at Lightpool Festival
Watch this space for details of an event this year!
Will we see the illuminated tram parade featuring a battleship, trawler and Great Western train travelling in convoy? They’re joined by the high-impact drumming and superb choreography of the Spark! LED drummers.
Why not Join In!
Well first of all just go along and join in the fun! Why don’t you really get into the spirit though and get dressed up? Deck yourself up in an illuminated costume – it can be as fancy as you dare to make it. Or maybe just get a string of battery operated lights from the pound shop and wrap them around your hat!

Illuminated Tram Parade at Carnival of Lights 2018
Did you see the convoy of Illuminated Heritage Trams in Blackpool on 25 October 2018?
Regular Visit Fylde Coast photo-contributor Gregg Wolstenholme was there and caught these AMAZING photos from the night.

They wound their way slowly along the promenade from South Shore to North Pier and then slowly went back again. The Spark! drummers leading everyone along a packed promenade!
Featuring the battleship HMS Blackpool, the lottery funded Western Train, the Fisherman’s Friend Trawler. They set off in convoy from the Pleasure Beach Heritage Tram Stop, travelling along the tramway through the illuminations before returning to terminate at Blackpool Pleasure Beach around 75 minutes later. The parade slowed as it approached Blackpool Tower for an unmissable photo and video opportunity.
Once the parade was over, trams returned to Pleasure Beach to continue with the illumination tours.

Donna Eaves was also at the Carnival of Lights and she sent in her photos of the Spark! Drummers too. Wow, what a brilliant FREE night out! Well done to the organisers of Lightpool Festival.

The first ever parade of Illuminated Heritage Trams took place in 2017 – and it was amazing! The Illuminated Tram Parade is a relatively new event, part of the Lightpool Festival. In only a couple of years it’s become a firm favourite with young and old alike.
